Enough is Enough

I'm starting to get annoyed.  There are some people out there that have forgotten how to be respectful.  It's been going on since the 80s, maybe even longer than that.  The 70s were before my time.  Seems as if people have forgotten how to respect those who God has put in authority over us.  Particularly speaking, the Office of the President of the United States.  It seems like it's become kind of common for people to mock, ridicule, and search for imperfections of those in charge of our country.  It's getting quite maddening.  A picture has been kind of circulating around with President Obama not putting his hand over his heart for National Anthem.  I've looked at websites about this practice.  The only thing that is for certain is that your hand should be over your heart for the Pledge of Allegiance.  If you're in the military, you should salute the flag when the Anthem is played.  For certain, you should remove your hat for the Anthem.  For certain, you shouldn't be laughing when someone sings the Anthem in a less than fair manner.  For certain, you shouldn't be texting or talking.  I'm highly bothered that people are so willing to claim the President as an America-hating, non-patriotic person because he stood in reverence to the flag without his hand to his heart.  It's not just that, though.  It's the hateful things that I've heard said about pretty much every president since I was born.  People call Reagan a racist who brought drugs to the inner city so he could wipe out the black people.  It's the people who continuously glorify Bill Clinton's improprieties in his marriage instead of being happy that he brought our country into a surplus.  George W. Bush gets consistently called a liar and a cheat instead of commended for how he comforted our country during its greatest tragedy since the Pearl Harbor.  It's about time we stop trying to find ways to criticize our leadership and start praying for them.  Stop being so divisive and start being unified again.  If you don't agree with something the President did, that's not a reason to mock him and call him "unpatriotic" or "buffoon" or "idiot."  They have done far more in their education than you have.  It's about time you respected that.  When was the last time you had to lead an entire country through terrible economic times?  That's what I thought.

As you can see, our presidents are human...just like you.
